A tag has been placed on Jim Schettler, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you feel that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Xiahou 02:27, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Pensacola Christian College

In case you were unaware, I wanted to leave you a friendly message to let you know that changing quoted text (as you did here [1]) is generally viewed to be bad form. Will Beback (talk · contribs) already reverted your change, but you may wish to brush up on the citation guidelines. --Kralizec! (talk) 18:15, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

Sorry for the bad form, a little new at this. will make a note not to change quoted text in the future. Noting malicious intended, just ignorance. Thank you Will Beback and Kralizac for the guidance.Mortsey 18:51, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

I got your note. No, I'm afraid there's no way of changing the attribution of edits made while logged out. - ·:· Will Beback ·:· 23:13, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Revert warnings

Hello. You should probably leave a {{uw-npov1}} warning after reverting [2] other editors. --Kralizec! (talk) 02:06, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

No worries; asking is the only way to learn new things.  :-) These and other warning templates are located at Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace. I generally suggest that people carefully read the page's header text, and always keep WP:AGF and WP:BITE in mind before issuing warnings.
As an example of the templates in use, you can see the warning I recently left at User talk:70.156.49.203. This was a {{uw-test1}} warning, where I put the following in a new section (titled "Your test worked") on the talk page in question:
{{subst:uw-test1|Walt Disney World Monorail System}} --~~~~
Please feel free to contact me if you have any other questions. --Kralizec! (talk) 03:38, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Please use edit summaries

Hello. Please be courteous to other editors and use edit summaries when updating articles. The Mathbot tool shows your usage of edit summaries to be very low:

Edit summary usage for Mortsey: 55% for major edits and 3% for minor edits. Based on the last 87 major and 31 minor edits in the article namespace.

Using edit summaries helps other editors quickly understand your edits, which is especially useful when you make changes to articles that are on others' watchlists. Thanks and happy editing! --Kralizec! (talk) 16:14, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

Hey Mortsey. Thanks for your kind words about my article. I know that my Fundamentalist-Modernist article is probably longer than it needs to be, but I also think that it's an issue that lots of people have strong opinions about without actually knowing a lot of the facts, (e.g. when people think "Christian fundamentalist", lots of people think rural hicks who don't know any better, as opposed to the reality that the initial "fundamentalists" were Ivy League professors, and if you go back and read The Fundamentals, I don't think that the fundamentalist movement can accurately be described as "anti-intellectual," which is another common stereotype people have about fundamentalists). So, I wanted to write an article that would let people have the facts so that they could judge for themselves.

If you want to know more about my background, my Wikipedia user page is pretty comprehensive. Maybe one of the reasons why I was well-placed to write a neutral article on the controvery is because I feel sympathy for both parties in the debate. I grew up in a very liberal church, but came to identify myself with the conservative wing of that church. I flirted with fundamentalism a bit in my later teenage years, currently worship in an evangelical denomination, but when push comes to shove, I would still identify myself as a conservative mainline Christian. So, from the article, the person I really identify with is Clarence E. Macartney, the man who resolutely opposed the spread of liberalism in the PCUSA, but nevertheless refused to leave the PCUSA when all the other conservatives left.

If you want to talk more about these issues, let me know.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet very basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
