Bloodhounds are the ultimate bounty hunters, with the ability to locate and pursue their marks even when facing normally impossible obstacles.

[edit] Requirements
Bloodhounds must be able to find and track their marks and approach within striking distance. They must also be able to take them down swiftly (a +4 attack bonus), as most marks are capable of doing serious damage to the pursuing bloodhound. These skills are represented by 4 ranks in each of Gather Information, Move Silently and Wilderness Lore, and by the feats Run and Track.
[edit] Abilities
Most of the bloodhound's abilities improve their ability to find and capture their marks. Several only work against a mark, while others apply in any cicumstance.
Bloodhounds are skilled at dealing subdual or non-lethal damage with an otherwise deadly weapon. Most beings find it more challanging to successfully strike this way, since they must use the flat of a sword, hit more softly with a club etc. Due to their training, bloodhounds do not have this problem and can hit just as easily as normal. At higher skill levels, a bloodhound may be able to do more damage subdually than when trying to wound a target. Another affect of this training is that subdual damage has little effect on a high-leveled bloodhound, as they know how to avoid such strikes.
Practise also allows a bloodhound to track any individual more easily, and they can move faster while tracking than most people. The armour that they wear becomes less of a burden while approaching a target and does not affect their ability to hide or sneak.
[edit] Marks
An apprentice bloodhound learns how to name a target as a mark. To do this, they must focus on that individual or a description or image of that person, for at least 10 minutes. More expericenced bloodhounds can mark multiple targets, but only if they are in a group and marked at the same time. Bloodhounds focus intently on bringing down their marks, and as such gain several abilities that can only be used against them. However, if they fail to apprehend their mark, they experience a strong psychological backlash and lose experience.
