[edit] Education
Morristown, although a very small town, is home to Morristown Elementary and Morristown Junior-Senior High School. The population for the schools is rather small, with around 500 students grades 7-12. The graduating class of 2006 was only 54 students. However, the class sizes are continuing to grow as well as the racial makeup within the school.
The educational offerings at Morristown High School are somewhat limited in comparison to other schools, specifically in the area of AP programs. The AP courses offered are Calculus AB, French, History (which was added in the 2005-2006 school year), and Biology. A dual enrollment program through Vincennes University is offered as both a senior English and Composition course which, upon completion, allows students to transfer the credits to the college they plan to attend. This depends, of course, upon whether or not the college accepts credits from Vincennes University.
[edit] Business
Morristown, although a small town, is in a prime location for work. Among small businesses within the town there are some major work sites that can employ quite a few workers. Morristown is home to Bunge, a large plant where soy beans are processed and then shipped off. Also, there is a Klosterman's Bakery which produces rolls and buns for many of the surrounding area restaurants. Just outside of Morristown there is a Freudenberg NOK factory. As State Road 52 runs through Morristown, there is a direct route to Rush County. Along this route there is a very large Pioneer plant as well as a few other factories. Taking only about 30 or so minutes to get downtown, Morristown allows people to commute to get to work in Indianapolis.
