Morgan Finlay is a Canadian Singer/Songwriter.
Originally from North Vancouver and now based in Toronto (after a creative period in Montreal), Morgan Finlay is a songwriter who has been performing since the age of five, and writes all his own songs.
With his first full-length record, ‘Everything Will Work Out Right’, released through Brisco Bodai internationally, Morgan Finlay has set on a busy schedule of touring in its support. A culmination of years on the independent scene, ‘Everything Will Work Out Right’ serves as a summary of the loves, emotions, and trials of a life lived on the edge. Running from the lead-off rockers ‘Inside’ and ‘zensong’, to the subtle ‘Far Beyond Words’ and ‘Seattle’, the listener can’t help but dip to the lows and swell to the highs of the record as a journey.
On the heels of its reception in Germany, Austria and the United Kingdom, Morgan has released it in Vancouver and Toronto, and will continue to tour the record while doing demos for his sophomore full-length. He continues to enjoy the attention from his last EPs, ‘Splice’ (March 2005) and his debut ‘Uppercut’ (October 2002) which produced the infectious ‘zensong’ and signature ballad, ‘The Reason Why’. The #2 spot on the Australian Independent Radio Charts, and airplay on the CBC, college and internet radio followed, making him new fans across Canada, in Europe, the US and down under. Over the past three years, performances have included numerous Canadian campus dates, shows in Toronto and Montreal clubs, festivals and charity events. With an endorsement from Seagull Guitars, other developments for the coming year include a fourth, seven-country fall tour of Europe (August 25th to December 21st), the release of a live solo record, songwriting sessions in Nashville, and the recording and writing of a follow-up to ‘Everything Will Work Out Right’.
