[edit] History
Moonstar88 was formed in 1999. They are signed to Sony BMG by 2007.
The band members all run successful careers outside their music. Maychelle is a scientist; Paolo is a famous video director; Bon Ryan is a radio marketer; and Herbert is an accomplished advertising creatives.
The name of the band was chosen after they had landed a gig, but did not have a name for their band. They wrote down a list of names and when they were about to perform, they choose Moonstar. They added the number 88 since Moonstar was the 88th name on their list.
They belong to Backbeat Management - the same management that handles more famous bands such as Parokya ni Edgar, Kamikazee, Queso, and The Youth.
