[edit] Counterfeiting notice
I removed from the template a note to the effect that the images of bills or coins covered by this license are not to be used for illegal purposes. Such provision is essentially either disclamatory or advisory; in the former case, WP:NDT should, IMHO, be understood as applicable, especially because there is surely no prospective liability here for the Foundation, whilst in the latter case that Wikipedia does not provide advice or instruct editors or users of content as to what they ought to or ought not do with that which find here ought, IMHO, to dispose. - If the counterfeiting notice is considered a disclaimer per WP:NDT, then all copyright notices must be considered disclaimers per WP:NDT. Neither of these notices are considered disclaimers because neither of these notices are in the article space. Arguably, Wikimedia would not be liable if copyright notices were not attached to images, on the basis of federal law providing immunity to such providers as Wikimedia. However, a statement saying that an image is in the public domain without stating an exception to when such an image may not be used is articulating factually incorrect material. [edit] Double duty
{{help}} Some of the images from commons also are tagged with {{money-US}}. See, e.g, Image:One dollar 1928.jpg. This is causing two money licenses to appear on the image page. If someone knows how to find all commons images tagged with {{money-US}}, please do so and replace {{money-US}} with [[Category:Public domain images of currency]] on the image page. Thanks. - Please ask at the help desk or somewhere. Helpme templates are only for user talk pages, not article or template talk pages. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshells•Otter chirps) 18:22, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
