Why did House of Commons refused to pay the commission? Was it over a disagreement with the price or the quality of the work? --Revth 01:47, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Higher resolution photo, with more accurate colours

Monarch of the Glen
Sir Edwin Landseer, 1851
Oil-on-canvas
Private collection

I have uploaded a better photo with (I believe) more accurate colours. I took this in the National Museum of Scotland in June (this is cropped to just the frame + painting, here is the original photo). I'll let some less biased person decide whether it should replace the existing image :-) Possibly the frame should be cropped also, though it does show that the painting has been very carefully lit.
