Monte Mataiur (slovene: Velika baba), also known as Monte Matajur, is a 1650 metre tall mountain in the Julian Alps of Italy with views over the Adriatic Sea. Its prominence is 1385 m.
On October 26, 1917 Rommel captured the mountain with 100 men, against an Italian force of over 7000.
