The Monte Cervino battalion is one of Italian Army's FOS (Forces for Special Operations). Founded as a ski battalion in 1915, today it is a part of the 4 Alpini Regiment. The Alpini are a mountain infantry corps of the Italian Army, that distinguished itself in combat during World War I and World War II.
