Monopoli is an indie rock band from Washington, DC, founded in 2004 by Alfonso Velez and Rube in the heart of the capitol city’s U Street Corridor. In addition to touring, Monopoli has played at nationally known D.C. venues such as the Black Cat and the 9:30 Club. Monopoli has been featured in Jane magazine on its reader CD and as a spotlighted artist in Amtrak’s Arrive magazine.
