Monk Tang Cho is a 2002 Hong Kong film. Set in the Middle Ages of China's rich history, this film accurately represents the features of the typical Chinese soap opera.[citation needed]
Its protagonist is a humble monk who uses civilised means to banish a few demons hellbent on destroying the village and taking civilian lives. Its main themes are adult in nature, but its principle follows the cliché that good always triumphs over evil.
