This image is being used in the article List of licensed Monopoly game boards to graphically illustrate the wide variety of editions of Monopoly sold throughout the world, and especially in 2005, the year Parker Brothers marked its 70th anniversary of selling the game. The image uses and inferior graphics format (JPEG), which it is believed would deter wide reuse of this image. While the artwork is copyrighted, it is not believed that its use in the aforementioned article will infringe on the copyright and trademark holders, Parker Brothers/Hasbro, as such use is for educational and informational purposes only. Nor is it believed that use of images of their game box lids will in any way impair their commercial sales.
