[edit] History
Moldavian Airlines was established on 26 July 1994 and started operations on 19 August 1994. It was the first private airline in Moldova. It became a joint Swiss-Moldovan company in November 1999, forming a partnership with Carpatair, an airline based in Romania.[1]
Compared to Air Moldova, Moldavian Airlines is the more professional airline. It develops more stable and steadily. The state administration is prefering the flag carrier Air Moldova and does not allow any real competition between the two airlines.
In 2005, Moldavian Airlines transported 91,200 passengers. In 2006, 89,200 passengers were transported. In 2007 50.000 passengers were transported to Budapest.[citation needed]
[edit] Destinations
International scheduled destinations (at February 2007):
When Club Air temporarily went out of service, Moldavian Airlines offered some ad hoc flights to Italy. During the Summer season Moldavian Airlines offers charter flights to Bodrum in Turkey. From time to time Moldavian Airlines aircraft are chartered for single flights within Europe.
[edit] Fleet
The Moldovan Airlines fleet includes the following aircraft (at April 2007)[1] :
- 1 Fokker 100
- 2 Saab 2000
