Mohammad Hussain Chohan

This article is regarding Lt Col (Retd) Mohammad Hussain Chohan (PA-4177).

For the purposes of clarity, he will be referred to simply as "Col Sahib" or "Col Hussain" in this article. People may also know him simply as CO Sahib, Hussain, Mohammad Hussain, Mohammad Hussain Malik, Malik Sahib or LalaJi. He has been married to Mrs. Taj Hussain for over 55 years.

Col Hussain was in the Artillery arm of the Pakistan army with a commissioned career spanning from 1952 until 1977. He was commissioned in the 3 SP regiment (Bijli Topkhana - This unit is always referred to as "3 SP", never "3rd SP"). Later on, he commanded 17 Locating regiment and the 23 Field Regiment. During the 1965 war, He was the staff captain (Artillery) at 10 DIV. In 1971 war, he commanded 17 Locating regiment in the Chawinda sector. He retired as GSO-1 (Mujahid) from IV Corps HQ in Lahore. Col Sahib's post-retirement activities inlcuded serving in Army Welfare Trust as well as private sector.

Col Sahib was born in 1927 to Mrs. Saeeda Bano and Mr. Malik Mukarrab Khan in village Pahar Khan, located near Kallar Kahar in Chakwal district. Mrs. Taj Hussain was also born in Pahar Khan and is the daughter of Mrs. Bhag Bhari and Mr. Malik Akbar Khan.
