Justice Mohammad Afzal Cheema is the most prominent Cheema, also referred as the Chief of Cheemas in Pakistan. He has a great political record, he was elected as member of the provincial assembly in 1951 and then of National Assembly of Pakistan. Subsequently he was elected as Senior Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly and severed as the Acting President of Pakistan. Besides his political career, Justice (R) Mohammad Afzal Cheema has served as Judge of Supreme Court of Pakistan, West Pakistan High Court and also as Federal Law Secretary. Adding to his achievements he was made as the first full time Chairman of Islamic Ideological Council (Islami Nazeryati Council) and had also served Muslim World League an international Muslim organisation running its functions parallel to OIC, as its Secretary General.
