Mohammad Hashem Mohaimeni (or Mohaymeni) (born 1955 in Gorgan, Iran) was appointed the third governor general of Golestan Province, Iran in May 2002.
Mohaimeni was born to a traditionally religious middle class family, in 1955 in Gorgan. His father, Habibollah Mohaimeni, is a retired primary school teacher who has also been a local businessman selling carpets & rugs. His mother, Molook Ebrahimi, has been teaching recitating the Holy Quran to the women of her neighbourhood. Mohaimeni is the 2nd child born to his parents; he has 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
Mohaimeni is married to Nassrin Akbarinezhad, a housewife. They have two sons and a daughter. He holds a B.Sc. in geology, mines, from Isfahan University, and an M.A. in political sciences from Tehran University.
Mohaimeni is also the license holder of the local socio-cultural weekly newspaper, called SALEEM (peaceable). His (younger) brother, Amir Abdossalam Mohaimeni, manages this newspaper.
