Modesto Varischetti

Modesto Varischetti was a gold miner for a gold mine in Bonnievale, Western Australia who survived for nine days after being trapped in an underground air pocket when a storm flooded the mine. Herbert Hoover, later President of the United States of America, was an engineer at the goldfields who was involved in the rescue.[1]
