[edit] Odd title
This category is strangely named. "Pederasty in modern times" seems more descriptive since the intent is not to describe new methods of pederasty. Student7 02:39, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
- While I remain neutral to changing the name as you suggest, I would point out that the difference between the two names and the two concepts is more than academic, and may be quite elusive. Are you suggesting that pederasty in the present is identical to pederasty in the past? Or that human behavior does not evolve (or at least change with the times)? Does the suggested title not imply that ancient pederasty has been resurrected for modern consumption? I do not presume to have answers to any of these questions, but they bear asking. - The intent of the category (since 1870) shows the editor's intent not to include the ancient Greeks or Romans. I doubt that pederasty has "changed" since then. I doubt that "modern" people have invented anything new in sex that differs from what people were doing several thousands of years ago. IMO. Materialism may have convinced some people that "moderns" have changed because the ancients didn't drive SUVs or edit encyclopedias online. But I remain convinced! All this, though, is quite appart from the original author's intent of including people since 1870 but naming the category as though their were something "modern" in the practice rather than in who was included :) Student7 12:14, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

- It is news to me that pederasty has remained unchanged since Classical times, and I will now hasten to present myself at the nearest gymnasium, disrobe, and proceed to praise the beauty of any boy I chance upon. Any untowards consequences will be laid at your doorstep.

- Having said that, I remain neutral as far as the naming of the category, and if you should choose to change it as per above,I will not mind in the least. Haiduc 16:24, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Articles in categories
We have Category:pedophilia and category:Modern pederasty ! so articles should exactly only in one of this categories and never in both! It depends on, if one person is over or under the age of consent. 85.8.66.114 (talk) 13:17, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
