"In this normal mode, it resembles a normal looking mobile suit."

What is a "normal looking mobile suit"? A GM? Zaku? Z'Gok? Geara Doga? Jegan? Gaza-C?

I don't feel like there's any standard for "normality" among mobile suits, so that line (as well as the line about NT-D mode resembling a "normal Gundam" really makes any sense... It's meaningless because almost every MS looks vastly different from every other MS...

I think that the statement referred to the fact that the suit, when in normal mode, has no special equipment, appears to have no redeeming features, and has a monochromatic color scheme. Mass-production types tend to follow this pattern, so when saying it is a 'normal looking mobile suit,' they may be implying that it looks standard or plain.
