This is a postcard image of a mobile khurul (temple). On it rests the burkhan (image of Mahayana Buddhist deity). The mobile temple serves and accompanies a pastoral nomadic tribe, even as the tribe migrates.

This photo was taken in 1903 somewhere in Siberia during the Tsarist period.
