Michael "Murphman" Murphy was a little known linebacker for the St. Ignatius Wildcats. Often referred to as "the killing machine" he would often try to go for the injury incurring blow.
Mike was born on June 3, 1990 to Bridget and Michael Murphy. Mike started life out in the small town of Garfield Hts., Oh. Here he attended Marymount Preschool, also a place for retired nuns. At age six his family moved not to far away to Broadview Hts., Ohio. This is where Mike would spend the next 18 years of his life. At age 15 he attended St. Ignatius College Preperatory School in Cleveland. This is where Mike began his career as an aspiring student-athlete and , if things worked out, farmer.
Mike was a highly regarded player going into his senior year, but was beaten out for a starting job by Joe "Speedy" Brown. Brown was recruited by Notre Dame due to the fact that he was both fleet of foot and mind. He was nationally recognized for the fact that he always knew his assignment on every play. Fire means "Dogs go."
