[edit] About

This piece originally started as a writing piece on the top of Vancouver. It was then posted on my facebook account as a note to at which point I received a fair amount of feedback from people with in my network as well as my friends. I later when on to create a facebook group called 'You know you're a Vancouverite when'. The group has since grown to over 4,800 members (Vancouver's largest facebook related-group). The 'mandate' of the group expanded to then be a social haven for other Vancouverites to discuss the city as well as some photography. I am bringing this list here to be a part of the WikiProject Vancouver. Mkdwtalk 10:01, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Great!

Great essay! I just love it. You really covered everything special about Vancouverites. However, please don't test me on this. Some of this list is about things from when I wasn't born ! Canadianshoper 01:48, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

Excellent. I saw this on facebook but with the internal links it makes it much more interactive. Langara College 06:00, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Nice

Interesting page! I took it out of the category of Wikipedia essays because it's not about Wikipedia. I hope you don't mind.

[edit] Great essay, thanks

Loved it! Here's my contributions: You know you're a Vancouverite when you can spell TransLink, SkyTrain, Helmcken Street, Sea-to-Sky Highway and myTelus properly -- but you just don't bother. You know you're a Vancouverite when you can get to any address in the West End without driving on any of Denman, Davie or Robson. You know you're a Vancouverite when you can stand anywhere in Vancouver and point unerringly to the location of Balaclava, Quebec, Drake or Commercial -- but not Surrey. You're REALLY a Vancouverite when you know exactly what number to add to the hundred-block of the north-south cross-street to come up with the east-west numbered avenue that it crosses.
