[edit] AfD nomination of Buddhist Nation
Buddhist Nation, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Buddhist Nation satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Buddhist Nation and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Buddhist Nation during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Pigman 17:05, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Clarification of AfD Process
The article Buddhist Nation will not be deleted while discussion is going on. Discussion will go on for 5 days from the initial listing while a general consensus on the article is reached. The comment about "something thought up one day" refers to this article. No insult was meant by it, only that without verification and reliable sources for information, we have no way to evaluate the accuracy or notability of the organization. Because anyone can start an article and edit on Wikipedia, it's important to provide sources for other editors to be able to check and expand the article.
The best thing you can do to keep the article from being deleted is to add sources and references to the article. News stories from newspapers and magazines would be particularly helpful. Providing links to such stories online would be ideal but if the group has been mentioned in books, that would be very useful as well.
Please understand that many, many articles are begun on Wikipdia. Not every group or individual is notable enough to have an article. There are standards for inclusion in Wikipedia. I'm including a welcome message below and I hope you will explore the links in it to find out more about how Wikipedia works. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them on my talk page.
