Explain your destructive edit at Talk:Chongqing#Table. --Menchi 15:52, 12 Feb 2004 (UTC)

Mjklin, saw your post re: using Wikipedia for teaching. I've used it quite a bit with my students, so you may want to take a look at Wikipedia:School_and_university_projects for more details on past school projects. Thanks. Fuzheado 08:26, 13 Feb 2004 (UTC)

I saw your comment too. :) If you are going to be grading your students on their work, and don't want other users to edit their work before you've graded it, then here's one way to do it. For each new article your students want to create, make a subpage from your userpage, e.g. User:Mjklin/name of the article and have your students write their articles on these pages. Other wikipedia users wont edit these pages. Once you feel they are completed to the best ability of your students, then they can be moved into wikipedia itself (use the "move this page" link and give the page a normal wikipedia title). At this point, they will likely be edited, or expanded by other wikipedia users, and treated in the same way as we treat all articles - deleting useless ones, improving bad ones, expanding good ones, and placing great ones on Wikipedia:Featured articles.  :) fabiform | talk 15:50, 23 Feb 2004 (UTC)

[edit] ==News and the Public Domain==

Salve, Mjklin!
Saw your question about the news being in the public domain and I've posted a rather lengthy reply at Wikipedia:Reference_desk#Is_news_public_domain.3F. Hope this helps. Ave! PedanticallySpeaking 17:10, Nov 16, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Learning styles

Learning styles has been nominated for Collaboration of the Week. You might be interested. --Westendgirl 04:14, 31 Jan 2005 (UTC)

As a follow-up to your question on my talk page...I wasn't sure if you meant you needed more information on Collaboration of the Week or on learning styles. If you think the topic should be expanded as a targeted effort this week, you can vote on the Collaboration of the Week page. As for learning styles, I must admit I have just a cursory knowledge of the subject. I recently finished an instructor training program and one of the courses focused on adult learning styles. People generally learn in similar ways, but prefer certain approaches or styles. Children are more likely to see instructors/teachers as authority figures and do not really have the experience to contextualize what they learn. In comparison, adults bring experience and may resist information. They also tend to know how they learn best. Some of the academic work on learning styles focuses on visual/auditory/kinesthetic learners or the Kolb Learning Inventory. I'll try to put some references on the talk page for learning styles. --Westendgirl 22:09, 31 Jan 2005 (UTC)

[edit] current issues in teaching
