[edit] Notability of Rule the Seas

A tag has been placed on Rule the Seas, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. -- lucasbfr talk 17:30, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Rule the Seas

Ok. First off, I have userfied the page at User:MitoTranin/Rule the Seas. This will give you a version to work on for the next few steps.

Next, you need to review WP:WEB for the notability rules for web sites and the like. See especially the Criteria section. You need to meet one of these criteria for the article to not be deleted. And you need to show that you meet the criteria. Verifiability.

You have a user space version now that you can work on to try to reach the required sourcing to show that notability is met. If/when you do this, you then need to do one of three things to get the page put back in place in article space. 1) Convince me that the criteria are now met. 2) Convince another admin to overrule me, or 3) take the article to WP:DRV for review. DRV is always availible to you. It's the community's public forum for reviewing deletion descisions.

Option 2 is possible, but the least likely of the three. If you cannot convince me that the article meets notability requirements, you are not that likely to convince another admin that they do, *and* that they should overrule me on the issue. Option 3, however, happens all the time. DRV is review by admins and non-admins, and group consensous there is totally based on people's opinions of the issues at hand.

Anyway, that gives you my view on where things can go from here. Good luck with finding the needed sourcing for your article. - TexasAndroid 14:00, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
