The Mitsubishi AAM-1 was a Japanese air-to-air missile developed from the AIM-9E Sidewinder missile. Approximately 330 were produced between 1969 and 1971. It's performance characteristics are similar to Sidewinder, but it is slightly shorter and lighter, with a maximum range of just 4.3 miles.
