Mitch Joel

Mitch Joel is President of Twist Image, a Digital Marketing agency based in Montreal, Quebec. He has been a Blogger since September 2003 at Six Pixels of Separation – The Twist Image Blog. In May, 2006, Mitch launched the weekly Podcast, Six Pixels of Separation – The Twist Image Podcast. Both the Blog and Podcast focus on the intersection of Digital Marketing and Personal Branding.
In addition to the Twist Image blog and podcast, Mitch Joel hosts Foreword Thinking: The Business And Motivational Book Review Podcast.
Mitch sits on the board of directors for the IAB Canada (Interactive Advertising Bureau), is the Vice-Chair of the IAB Canada Quebec Council, is a board member for the Canadian Marketing Association and is the instructor for the CMA's eMarketing professional certificate course in Montreal.
Joel is a professional speaker, and is represented by the Canadian speaker's bureau, Speaker's Spotlight. He has shared the stage at the Power Within events with former United States President, Bill Clinton, Anthony Robbins, and Dr. Phil.
In January 2007, Marketing Magazine called Mitch, "Canada's Rock Star of Digital Marketing," and in 2006 he was named one of the most influential authorities in the world on the topic of Blog Marketing by the UK-based research firm, Onalytica.
Prior to joining Twist Image, Mitch was a music journalist and publisher/editor of the music magazines, Arena Rock and Enrage. Mitch then became one of the first employees at Mamma.com (a meta search engine) where he held the titled of Director, Advertising and Sales. After Mamma.com, Mitch became Director or Marketing and Communications at Airborne Entertainment – a mobile content provider headquartered in Montreal, Quebec. Mitch also co-launched Distort Entertainment with Greg Below. Distort Entertainment is a hard music label that signed the artists, Alexisonfire, City & Colour and others.
