Mitch Holthus, the "Voice of the Kansas City Chiefs", is the play-by-play announcer for the Kansas City Chiefs on KCFX. A native of Smith Center, Kansas,[1] he has been with the Chiefs Radio Network since 1994, when he took over for Kevin Harlan. He is also the host of Chiefs Kingdom. Holthus also is an announcer for Missouri Valley College basketball games on regional television. Holthus graduated from Kansas State University in 1979 with a degree in journalism. He received a degree in business administration from Kansas State University in 1980. Holthus was the voice of the Kansas State Wildcats from 1983-1996. He is married to the former Tami Johnson of McPherson, Kansas, a former Kansas State women's basketball player. [2]
