[edit] User:AKMask/log
This page was speedy deleted as a "privacy vio." A DRV consensus narrowly overturned deletion, believing the content was not under any use restriction. Please see the DRV discussion before commenting. The debate here may consider any available information regarding the copyright status of the content; as well as, separately, whether the content violates WP:USER policy in any other way. This is a procedural nomination, so I abstain. Xoloz 03:31, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
- Not sure. It seems to me that our privacy policy is irrelevant here, if it's a log of a non-wikipedia IRC server, but wikipedia isn't for hosting logs of other sites. It's the userpage of a busy editor, though, and it's a fairly small page. --HughCharlesParker (talk - contribs) 11:11, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
- Comment- I find it in bad taste to argue argue about my own page, so I wont 'vote'. Just to point out a couple things for those that do, non-freenode server (gnaa.us) and it's part of the April Fool's goings on this year (crapflooding the GNAA). -Mask

- Keep, per what JoshuaZ said on the DRV, unless someone shows that the server on which that conversation took place forbids reposting of logs. It is not a privacy violation otherwise. I disagree with Christopher Parham's view that "Wikipedia is... not the repository for inane crap" applies here - this sort of content is not much different from what we'd normally put in BJAODN. - Question: Is the page supposed to be funny? I don't get it. --TantalumTelluride 02:36, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
- Comment: It's a "get a taste of your own medicine" kind of prank, considering that the GNAA are aces at crapflooding other IRC channels. Kimchi.sg 02:43, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
- To be honest, I don't find it particularly funny, but it doesn't give me a minor chortle if I'm in the mood, perhaps the same way that The Three Stooges do. That said, while it's only borderline relevant to Wikipedia, there's no real reason to delete it as such. However, perhaps nudging AKMask slightly that it may be more appropriate at a personal website, or what have you, would be a good compromise for those who want to see it deleted.--SB | T 03:51, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
- To be honest, that is what I would normally do, but since it was organized by WP members, I decided to put it in with the April Fool's 2006 stuff at WP:BAD#April fools 2006 which links to user subpages, so I followed the trend. -Mask
