[edit] Some trivias worth including (and maybe some controversies)
- Amelia Vega being one of the tallest, if not the tallest, winner of the pageant in history.
- The fairy tale ending to Miss Venezuela's journey, not to mention the controversy surrounding the training of Miss Dominican Republic in Venezuela. (Though I think these were already discussed in the Amelia Vega article.) And remember that there was also controversy about Amelia Vega's behavior throughout the pageant.
- Japan's placement--how long has it been since Japan placed?
- Serbia and Montenegro's placement. First time it participated (I'm not sure though)--as Serbia and Montenegro, and it became a finalist. It will be its only placement since that union was dissolved in 2006 (although the delegate for 2006 still represented the union).
- The Figali Convention Center was an American military based before. And it was purposely built for this pageant (see Figali Convention Center article).
- I don't know if there was any controversy involved in Japan's evening gown, but she certainly stood out because of it. Remembered it was made by Dolce & Gabbana.
[edit] Answers/Opinions/Ideas Stated above
I think we should include those but first, we should cite or have an description of the event or some kind of exact explanation especially those controversies. User:Hedwig0407 22 August, 2006
- bond, the musical guests, provided most of the music, including Victory for the introductory number/parade of nations, Libertango, Strange Paradise and Shine among the music used for the evening gown and swimsuit. 58.71.12.235 00:40, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Trivia included
According to the article: In terms of regional representation, this was one of the most balanced top fives in recent years, with delegates from Oceania, Asia, Europe, Asia and the Caribbean all making the top five.
- Huh? No Oceanian country/state is represented in the top five. I think the correct breakdown is Africa, Asia, Europe, North America and South America (along with Oceania). Provided that the top five all come from these different continents/regions, then it is balanced. In this sense, the results for Miss Universe 2003 conforms to the trivia (and this is also the case for Miss Universe 2002).
-
- Oh woops that was my fault... I think I somehow that MU 2003 & 4 confuzzled. 2003 was one of the most representative years, though.
[edit] Serious political issue
due to china has dilemma with taiwan, so some chinese people randomly change the title, arrangement, and national flag of miss taiwan. thus, i strongly suggest that this page must be protected and locked. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.15.74.17 (talk) 05:33, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
