BASIC INFOMATION:
The term Mistika refers to the summer 2008 Bionicle canister sets. Mistika is a Matoran word which means "Spirits of the Mist". The Toa Mistika are Tahu Nuva, Toa of Fire; Gali Nuva, Toa of Water; and Onua (not to be confused with Onewa) Nuva, Toa of Earth. The Makuta Mistika are Krika (not to be confused wih Krekka), Bitil, and Gorast.
KANOHI:
Their known Kanohi Mask Powers are shielding (Tahu), water-breathing (Gali), strength (Onua)
The Mask of Duplication was the Kanohi worn by Makuta Bitil. It allowed the wearer to summon a past version of themself to the present for help. The mask could summon dozens of the wearer's past versions, and was risky to use. If any of the user's past versions was killed, they would cease to exist in the past. When the mask was deactivated, the past versions were sent back to their time and their memories of the future erased. However, any damage to their bodies remained.
The Kanohi Crast was the Mask of Repulsion. It repelled whatever the user wanted, including nature itself. By repelling the ground, the wearer could fly. This mask is worn by the White Makuta Mistika and Leader of the Makuta Mistika: Krika.
The Mask of Disruption was Gorast's Kanohi. It gave the user the power to cause an entity's power go out of control. The mask would not disrupt the power of another Kanohi, and it could only affect one power at a time.
MAKUTA MISTIKA
Bitil is one of the Makuta that invaded the Swamp of Secrets with Krika and Gorast. Bitil and Gorast where the first to side with Teridax when he took over the Brotherhood of Makuta. Bitil was also the first Makuta to notice the changes that came with their evolution into pure energy. Most of the 42 Kraata/Rahkshi powers. Like Krika and Gorast, an unknown force took away his access to some of the 42 Kraata powers, including his shapeshifting abilities. This means he is currently stuck in his insectoid form, perhaps permanently. Bitil has two twin Longswords and wears the Mask of Duplication. He also has wings, though bulkier than Gorast's, and a Nynrah Ghostblaster with green ammo. The most remarkable, easy to spot feature in Bitil is his scarab shaped head. 'Bitil' is Detrived from 'Beetle'
Krika was a Makuta and a member of the Brotherhood of Makuta, and was one of the Makuta to invade Karda Nui. Little is known of Krika's history prior to the invasion of the Universe Core. It is known that when Makuta Teridax revolted against Miserix, the leader of the Brotherhood of Makuta, Krika, along with Icarax, was one of the last Makuta to support Teridax. Thousands of years later, Krika was one of the Makuta assigned to invade the Core of the Universe. He was the leader of the Makuta in the Swamp of Secrets, and along with the other two, was exposed to a mutagen in the swamp water which locked him into an insectoid form and caused him to lose many of his powers. When three of the Toa Nuva came to the Swamp in search of the legendary Mask of Life, the Makuta fought them, but were unable to kill them. Eventually, they were joined by three more Makuta and prepared to confront all six Toa Nuva in the final battle. Krika held little hope that the Plan would succeed, but went along with it simply because he felt it was his place in the world to do so. He believed that the Makuta had sealed their fate one way or another when they decided to rebel against the Great Spirit Mata Nui, and that, win or lose, there was no turning back now. Krika wore the Kanohi Crast, the Great Mask of Repulsion. With it, he could repel any object or being he wanted, even nature itself. He could also fly by repelling the ground.
Like all Makuta, Gorast once worked solely on creating new Rahi. Gorast is the ruler of the Tren Krom Peninsula, was the Makuta that made and conquered the Visorak hordes, and is designated as "The Mistress of the Acid Falls." Upon Makuta Teridax's rebellion, Gorast and Bitil were the first to side with him. On Teridax's order, Gorast and Icarax hunted down and killed the Makuta who had initially defended Miserix. After the defeat of the League of Six Kingdoms, Gorast journeyed with Mutran to the territory of Kalmah. At unknown point Gorast traveled to Stelt encountering Krekka, who attempted to "convince" her to leave. This resulted in the loss of one of his eyes. Gorast seemed very violent and was very confident The Plan would succeed. When she went to Kalmah's fortress with Mutran he described her as gory. Gorast wore the great Kanohi Mask of Disruption, which she used to make a Toa or any other being's power go crazy and rebound on themselves. She used the spiky stinger on her mask to leech all of the light from beings. She also had four pairs of claws on her four arms, gossameric wings, and a Nynrah Ghostblaster with green ammo, like the rest of the Mistika. Gorast is the only remaining female Makuta, the others were killed off in missions or by Teridax's supporters.
TOA MISTIKA
Tahu Mistika: After the first battle in the sky at Karda Nui, the Toa Nuva split up. Tahu led Gali and Onua into the so-called Swamp of Secrets that puddled at the bottom of Karda Nui, where he and the others encountered Gorast, Krika, and Bitil. The story of what happened in the swamp is revealed in BIONICLE Legends 10: Swamp of Secrets. Tahu also carried a Nynrah Ghost Blaster and a shield.
Gali Mistika: At some point after arriving at Karda Nui the Toa Nuva split up. Kopaka, Lewa and Pohatu stayed in the air to help with the battle going on there while Gali, Tahu and Onua headed to the swamp down below to search for the Mask of Life. What she and the others do not know is that the Ignika is up above helping the others. The story of what she and the other two did in the so-called Swamp of Secrets will be revealed in August. In 2008 Gali will have a Nynrah Ghostblaster.
Onua Mistika: Tahu, Gali, and Onua went to the Swamp below Karda Nui to battle Gorast, Krika, and Bitil. The story of what happened in the swamp is revealed in BIONICLE Legends 10: Swamp of Secrets. Onua was wise but quiet, even allowing the other Toa Nuva to split up even when he knew it was a mistake. He was in a way the conscience of the Toa. He came to the island wearing the Pakari, Great Mask of Strength, he also wore a Pakari Nuva known as one of the Nuva masks.
Although Not A True Toa Nuva: Toa Takanuva is also A Mistika
Takanuva's mask was the Avohkii, the Great Mask of Light, which augmented his power of light, and supposedly could bring peace and understanding to others. It could also reverse the effects of the Kraahkan. Takanuva's weapon was the Staff of Light. It has been replaced with the Power Lance and Midak Skyblaster. Takanuva in front of his Ussanui.Before it was destroyed, he rode the Ussanui. Made from Rahkshi armor, it allowed Takanuva to speed through the tunnel leading to Makuta's lair. It was taken to Metru Nui to be rebuilt, but hasn't been yet. Takanuva is confirmed to return during summer 2008. The prototype 2008 Takanuva was on display at the 2008 toy fair in New York. GregF has confirmed that before coming to Metru Nui, Takua was best friends with Solek.
