Missing Since Monday (ISBN 9780823406265) was a book written by Ann M. Martin in 1987.
Maggie and her brother Mike are looking after their little sister Courtneay for a week, while their parents are on vacation. When Courtneay does not return from preschool, they realize she may have been kidnapped. Maggie starts getting threatening phone calls and starts getting followed. They realized that who ever took Courtnay is after Maggie too. The detectives have no tips or leads. Even when they found a dead body in the woods,it turned out it was not Courtneay. Maggie gets a phone call from her own mother, which turns everything around. Maggie's mother was in New Jersey so Maggie and her brother went there to meet her. They had to go meet her at a hotel so she could see them and talk to them. Then they discovered something they never even wanted to think about. Their own mother took Courtneay. Maggie finds them and they live happily ever after. after that her parents get mad at her, but at the same time there glad that she found her little sister. Maggie gets courtney a miley Cyrus poster for her birthday.
