This list of Ultimate Play The Game games shows all games by Ultimate Play The Game, one of the most successful British video game developers of the 1980s.[citation needed] Many of these titles were great critical and commercial successes, with CRASH magazine awarding Ultimate games an average review score of 93%[1] over the period of 1983 to 1986. Among the most successful of these were the Jetman and Sabreman series, which to date have spawned four and five installments respectively, with the latest of each coming from Rare, Ultimate's sucessor company (see Ultimate Play The Game#History for more information). One of the early titles, Knight Lore, is still seen as one of the most important and influential games of all time, [citation needed]
All games were developed by Tim and Chris Stamper[citation needed] and published by Ultimate Play The Game[2] until the company was partly purchased by U.S. Gold, when the new owner took over both roles.

[edit] Games
Many of Ultimate's games were great critical and commercial successes, with CRASH magazine awarding Ultimate titles an average review score of 93%[3] over the period of 1983 to 1986. Among the most successful of these were the Jetman and Sabreman series, which to date have spawned four and five installments respectively, with the latest of each coming from Rare, Ultimate's sucessor company. One of Ultimate's best-known titles, Knight Lore, is still seen today as among the most important and influential games of all time,[4][5][6] and the genesis of the isometric adventure genre.[7]
All titles were released for 8-bit home computer platforms popular in Europe at the time, with a few seeing a Japanese release for the MSX platform. The Sinclair ZX Spectrum was the company's platform of choice[8] due to its immense popularity providing the largest market,[citation needed] though most games were also ported to the Amstrad CPC and BBC Micro computers. The other major 8-bit computer, the Commodore 64, received few of these ports but was supported by Ultimate with unique titles of its own.
