Mirza is also a title used by Mongols

[edit] Mirza usage in Persia/Iranian

What the article said seemed wrong to me (from what I remember), so....

My mother is Iranian. Born and raised there. And only moved to Canada (at my Dad's request) after marrying my Dad (who is a Canadian). (So she's an expert on this.)

I asked her and (I'll update the article to reflect that.)

In Kazakh as in other turkic languages from former USSR 'mirza' means 'mister'--AlefZet 14:01, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

In the article it says...

"The name today is in use mainly in the the Indian subcontinental"

That's not accurate. The title is still used in Iran.
