The mirror butterflyfish, Chaetodon speculum, is a member of the Chaetodontidae.

Found in the Indian Ocean and Pacific Ocean from Indonesia to Japan and south to the Great Barrier Reef and Papua New Guinea. Reported from Mauritius, Madagascar, and Reunion. [1]

Grows to a maximum of 18cm long. Body color is bright yellow to orange-yellow with a big black blotch on the upper posterior portion of the trunk and a vertical black bar running through the eye. [1]

Mirror butterflyfish feed on coral polyps and invertebrates. [1]
[edit] Habitat
The Mirror butterflyfish is found at depths between 3 and 30m, in coral reefs. In coastal reef slopes rich with hydroids and anemones. Small juveniles secretive in coral thickets. Usually solitary and relatively uncommon. [1]
