Mirabilis Liber

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mirabilis Liber is the famous and important compilation of predictions published in the 16th century, after Nostradamus centuries. It was not clear when the first edition was published, but it was probably between 1515 and 1522, in France. The Mirabilis Liber (or Liber Mirabilis) was attributed by many authors to Jean de Vatiguerro, a pseudonym, who lived from the 13th to the 15th century. Some writers attribute this book to other authors, such as Nostradamus father, St. Cesaire, Jean Muller etc. This 16th century book has 2 parts, the first in Latin and the last one, smaller, in French. The only translation of this book was printed in French in 1831. According to some people, the 1522 edition has a prophecy concerning the French Revolution--the expulsion and abolition of the nobility, the violent death of the king and queen, the persecution of the clergy, the suppression of the converts, are all mentioned therein, followed by the further prophecy that the eagle coming from distant lands would re-establish order in France. When people in France knew about this prophecy in the book, many people went to the French libraries trying to read the prophecy at that time. The French government then did not allow the people to check the book and cut the second and last part of the book, in French, which supposedly had the prophecy. This is why many of these books found in French libraries (such as St. Genevieve) do not have the second part, according to Fabio R. Araujo, author of Selected Prophecies and Prophets.

There were also prophecies linked to events in the 19th century, such as 1830 and 1848 revolutions. Concerning future events, the book has rare prophecies about a future flood in France, about a Muslim invasion in Europe, a big war etc. collected from different sources, saints, found in libraries etc.
