Ming Pan was born in Shanghai, China and lived there until he became 18 years old. Since then, he has been living in the US. He received a BS degree in computer sciences from the University of Texas at Austin [1] in 1996 and an MBA degree in Finance and Accounting from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business [2] in 2004. Currently, he resides in Evanston, Illinois.

Ming is a member of the Investment Committee at Chicago-based Guidance Capital [3], a hedge fund of funds with over half a billion dollars in assets under management. He focuses on hedge fund manager research in areas including managed futures, convertible arbitrage, risk arbitrage, fixed income arbitrage, equity market neutral, and equity long/short strategies.

Ming has passed all three levels of the CFA (Charterded Financial Analyst) [4] Progrm and is a member of the CFA Society of Chicago.
