Mind The Gap Theatre(MTG) was formed in 1998 by director Paula D'Alessandris. It's mission is to exchange new plays between the US and UK with an emphasis on producing new British works in NYC. With their Anglo-American Repertory of actors based in NYC, Mind The Gap has produced over 50 workshops, readings and productions all while operating on an entirely voluntary basis. In late 2005 they received their 501(c)(3) non-profit status. With Dame Judi Dench and Dame Helen Mirren on their board of advisors, Mind The Gap continues to produce some of the most exciting new theatre around. Mind The Gap Theatre presented 3 consecutive winners of the Sam French Festival of New Plays: Three Tables by Dan Remmes; The Devil's Parole by Eric Giancoli and Flights by Susan Cameron. In 2001 MTG participated in the citywide UKwithNY Festival sponsored by British Airways where they presented 6 new works including their stage adaptation of Gary Oldman's Nil By Mouth.
Some playwrights of note who have been presented at Mind The Gap are: David Eldridge, Dan Remmes, Ryan Craig, Philip Gawthorne, Philip Ralph, Nancy Harris, Lucy Kirkwood, Chris Thorpe, Andrew Biss,Glyn Cannon and Gary Owen.
