[edit] Kerouac

What about Jack Kerouac? Kerouac was a Bird follower. He wrote several poems about jazz at Minton's. One is on his spoken word album.

It is usual to sign and date contributions with four tildes (~) on Wikipedia.
Kerouac was a friend of Jerry Newman, responsible for recording those after hours sessions, in the early 1940s when they were both students at Columbia. In any case Parker did not actually perform that much at Minton's, despite the venues importance in the emergence of bebop. Philip Cross 16:20, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
