Miniature Siberian Huskies make absolutely wonderful and loving pets! I've owned both the larger and smaller versions for some time and have found the smaller version to be more desirable. I also fancy them better than the Alaskan Klee Kai, which seems to be to me, an American Eskimo Dog disguised as a husky.
i think this is ridiculous its jsut somone trying to be god
[edit] Miniature Husky Creators Accused Of Playing God...
Okaaaaay, um.... So it is okay for other people to intentionally breed various types of dogs for all sorts of purposes including companionship, but it is not okay for me or those in my group to downsize a siberian husky and by doing THIS we are playing God????? That is a seriously flawed statement on so many levels. Dogs did not occur naturally, man has been manipulating dogs since they came into our posession. This is a fact. If we did not they would all be wolves & coyotes. (or other such wild dogs) Now people are free to believe that we should not interfere with animals at all but if you know and study humans for long enough you'll find out that leaving anything alone is NOT in our nature.
The following statements are not really applicable. First, this is not a new breed, merely a size variation. Finally, creating a size variation within a breed does not require inbreeding. Nowhere in this article is it stated that Miniature Siberian Huskies were created through inbreeding nor does it claim they are a new breed. On what basis are the following statements being made?
[edit] Intent to develop a new breed (DE FACTO) seems clear
The modern Miniature Siberian Husky was first bred in the mountains of Hendersonville, North Carolina. The dogs were developed by Bree Hefner May... Development of dogs continues under the supervision of Bree Hefner May
Here we have , de facto, a new breed being created by using a highly restricted breeding population. The necessary inbreeding used to "fix type" is likely to cause health problems in the new proto-breed.

The site linked below has a large collection of articles on the the common practice of inbreeding and "the popular sire syndrome" that has resulted in the current genetic crisis of purebred dogs:
