[edit] Form factor size is shown as ".5" - seems unclear - is it either appropriate or correct notation to put the leading zero?

"0.5" in the article would be clearer...

Can a MiniSD card be read in a regular SD card reader? ---Ransom (--71.4.51.150 23:37, 24 August 2006 (UTC))

Yes, with the appropriate adapter from MiniSD to "regular" SD you can read and write to that card in a regular SD reader.208.252.49.130 14:44, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Capacities

Changed the maximum capacity from 2GB to 4GB in the capacity section. This is for standard SD, not SDHC. Mantispid 18:11, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

There seems to be some confusion out there about how the SD cards are to be formatted. The SD Card Association has official card formatting software. http://www.sdcard.org/Downloads.aspx. The software is free and includes a PDF manual in English and Japanese. The manual notes that "Generally, SD/SCHC Memory Card file systems with generic operating system formatting software do not comply with the SD Memory Card Specification. If you have formatted SD/SDHC Memory Card with generic operating system formatting software, reformat SD/SDHC Memory Card using this software or the appropriate formatting software prepared by the SD hosts provider, and is a ver compatible item to use." 67.169.225.3 04:53, 7 April 2007 (UTC)ddevore

[edit] Desirable Extension

It would be good to add a table of the pinouts and indicator of pin 1 for each of the SD formats described.

[edit] Could we get a picture that shows the size better?

Showing one next to a coin or other common object would probably be good. --Aquillion (talk) 14:49, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
