Minamoto no Mitsunaka
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Minamoto no Mitsunaka (源満仲) (912-997), son of Minamoto no Tsunemoto, was a samurai and Court official of Japan's Heian period. He held the title, passed down from his father, of Chinjufu-shogun, Commander-in-chief of the Defense of the North. Mitsunaka is also renowned as being the father over the legendary Minamoto no Yorimitsu.
Mitsunaka retired to Tada in Settsu Province, and is sometimes known as Tada Manjū. One of the sub-families of the Minamoto clan thus came to be known as Tada as well.
Mitsunaka appears in the anime Otogi Zoshi, along with fictionalized versions of a number of other historical figures.
