Station opened on April 1, 1927 as Sedagaya-Shinden (千駄ヶ谷新田, Sedagaya-Shinden?).
Renamed on July 1, 1931 to Odakyū-Honshamae (小田急本社前, Odakyū-Honshamae?).
Renamed on May 1, 1942 to Minami-Shinjuku.
