[edit] Robyn Donald

Hi there, it appears that you have put a great deal of time and effort into the article on Robyn Donald. Unfortunately, much of this does not follow the guidelines established for Wikipedia as an Wikipedia:Encyclopedia, although I have not had time to determine specifics.

Firstly, I am not challenging the article as a whole - it is clear that Robyn is notable and deserves an article.

[edit] Possible Issues:

  • The inclusion of large passages of well-developed text raises the issue of Wikipedia:Copyright. Because of its free licesnsing, Wikipedia must take extreme care not to breach copyright by including previously published material. It is okay to include short extracts from sources, but they must be clearly deliniated as quotes and cited, and there should be a strong reason for using a direct quote rather than paraphrasing.
  • The second thing that comes to mind when reading this article is that it appears to contain Original Research, which is not permitted. Wikipedia is a reference work limited to summarising material that has been published by reputable sources.
  • Lastly (and closely related to the above two points, all information published must be Verfiable by the reader. This is usually achieved by citations of the references used, whther they be online, print or other media.

Please take time to read the policies and guidelines that I have linked to, and consider how the article can be adapted to comply with them. This will help avoid wholesale removal of content which appears to infringe policies. Note that I am not an administrator, just a fellow editor (although I lack the dedication to create articles in such depth! I came across this article while adding birth dates to the compilation article 1940 in New Zealand) dramatic 05:29, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
