[edit] Proposed merge with North Greenwich

These two terms deal with same area, and it can be dealt with as a para under this entry. Kbthompson 23:28, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

Merge the content but keep North Greenwich as an article describing what the term has meant over time - when most people today say "North Greenwich" without qualification they are almost invariably referring to the area around North Greenwich tube station. OK, I've removed the merge tags. The explanation has been added here, and the North Greenwich article has been a little clarified (I hope). Not really a historic name, more a back formation (as is the modern usage) from the name of the railway station. The BritHistory article describes is as analogous to North Woolwich, but it seemed to have no other formal status, or link with the south of the river. Hope that's all agreeable.
