HMAS Tobruk in 1954

HMAS Tobruk (D-37) was a Battle-class destroyer built by the Cockatoo Docks and Engineering Company at Sydney and commissioned in May 1950. Tobruk completed two deployments to Korean waters during the Korean War in 1951-52 and 1953. Tobruk was accidentally hit by a shell from her sister ship Anzac while exercising with the fleet off the east coast of Australia in September 1960 and paid off into reserve on 9 October 1960.
