Mill Valley High School

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mill Valley High School is located in Shawnee, Kansas, though it is part of the De Soto School District (USD 232). The school began classes in 2000-2001. As of the 2007-2008 school year, its attendance was roughly 950 and growing. The school is much smaller than nearby Shawnee Mission Northwest High School and Olathe Northwest High School, due to De Soto's plan to keep class sizes small. However, with recent increases in attendance, the school district has tried to pass two bonds in the past two years. Both failed, leading to a degree of overcrowding that is a popular topic in student publications and discussion.

Mill Valley High School is currently under the administration of Dr. Joe Novak, along with associate principals Cindy Fouraker and Matt Bohm. The school mascot is JJ the Jaguar.
