Milan Petržela played youth football for TJ Hoštice-Heroltice, FK Drnovice, Rostex Vyškov, Zeman Brno and FK Drnovice, where he his top flight debut in 2003 FK Drnovice second Czech league (Druhá liga). In August 2003 moved to 1. FC Slovácko into the Gambrinus Liga. There he played 70 games in three years and in the summer of 2006 he was bought by AC Sparta Praha. They however loaned him out to FK Jablonec where he made 24 appearances and helped the win the Cup. For the 2007-08 season he returned to AC Sparta Praha.
