[edit] RE: Your message on my userpage

Since I'm not an admin, the answer is "no there is really nothing I can do in regards to User:Demiurge". I was simply adding an opinion there. Beyond that some of your edits and lingusitics are very reminiscent of the banned User:Rms125a@hotmail.com, who has been known to use extensive sockpuppets. Again, assuming good faith, this is simply a coincidence, but a Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser might be in order to clear this up. I'd leave the Help tag up though until an actual admin responds because they have tools at their disposal to resolve this (or can escalate it where it can be resolved). All I can do is offer advice.--Isotope23 18:46, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] RMS

I just reviewed your edits and right now, you look a whole lot like another Robert Sieger sock-puppet. - Alison 19:08, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Deleting your contributions

As I'm sure others have told you, checkuser cannot be used to prove someone is innocent; there are far too many ways for people to funnel through other IP addresses. The fact that on your first day, you even know what a checkuser is indicates that you are not being entirely truthful about being a new user. Since a good case has been made for you being a sockpuppet, I have no qualms about deleting articles you create - if someone determines you are not a sock, its easy to undelete the articles later. Shell babelfish 19:14, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

Shell, I'd suggest not deleting good contributions, even if made by a sock-puppet/puppeteer. (I don't know what is being deleted, so I can't judge the actual quality... ) ---J.S (T/C) 20:11, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
As is the way with Robert Sieger socks, I tend to review his edits, fix the broken stuff (like link formatting, para disruption, etc) and delete/revert the downright POV (see edit history of Tim Pat Coogan for examples of that!). WP:AGF and all that - Alison 20:14, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Reply...

Well, if you edit in good faith I wouldn't worry about your edits being removed. Removing helpful and good faith edits is a no-no.

There is nothing inherently against the rules with sockpuppets. The problems begins when someone uses sockpuppets to abuse the system. (ie, getting around a block, attempting to gain advantage in AFD, edit waring or attempting to bypass the three revert rule.) You can learn more about sockpuppets here.

No, I'm not an admin, but that doesn't really matter.

There is recourse. I'd suggest looking at the dispute resolution processes if calmly talking it out dosn't work. ---J.S (T/C) 20:32, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
