Talk:Mike Conley, Jr.

[edit] Birth place?
Can we get a link to where it says that he was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas? Both things I have seen say Indinapolis, Indiana. So unless sufficient proof is provided it will be changed. - Centaursports

Seems that ESPN and a couple of other sites built an error off one another, assuming that "hometown" means "birthplace". The OSU official web site only lists his hometown (meaning where he lived prior to coming to OSU), not his birthplace. Mike was born while Mike Sr. was training in Fayetteville, where he lived for years after graduating from Arkansas. He only moved to Indianapolis when Mike Sr took a job with USATF.
Notice this extract from the linked article:
I give Greg a lot of credit for things he's done for me, said Mike Jr., who was born in Fayetteville, Ark., and moved to Indianapolis in seventh grade when his father became an executive director at USA Track and Field. He draws a lot of scouts to our games and practices and allowed me to show my stuff to a bunch of people looking for talent.

- Alright, thanks that looks sufficient enough Centaursports 04:51, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
- Hmm, the last source says "Fayetteville, AK". --fullcourt 22:11, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
- That's a pretty common mistake for Arkansas' postal abbreviation. BostonRed 01:13, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
